I did everything you describe on the manuals and still got no match? Why?

I did everything you describe on the manuals and still got no match? Why?

There are several reasons why you got no match in your measurement:

1.      The amount and age of the substance

If the amount of the raman active substance you are trying to measure is too small, you might miss to analyze in the `hotspot´.If the substance is too old maybe is an active anymore and t the analysis signal you will get will be very weak .

2.      Is the substance Raman active compound?

Not all substances are raman active compounds.

3.      The spot of the substance you analyze

If you are trying to analyze a pharmaceutical tablet where you have the coating and  the excipient in more amounts than the actual APIs you might miss the API’s  ‘hotspot’. In this case we recommend you to cut the tablet in half and try to measure using the point and shoot adaptor.

4.      Did you activate all libraries before the analysis?

In order to obtain a spectra match you need to activate the library-ies that contain the substance you are trying to analyze.

5.      Is the substance you are trying to analyze already existing in the factory libraries?

If you are trying to measure a substance that does not exist in Serstech factory libraries, you will get a No Match. In this case and if you want you can use the Add Substance method and add the new substance in your own library, send it to the Indicator through ChemDash ONE and use it for future identification.

6.      Did you use the right accessory to measure?

Keep in mind to use the right accessory during an analysis. For more information, please read the Serstech 100 Indicator User Manual.
